Just wanted to let everyone know that my work place informed me that they are required by law to provide me with a plug to charge my car. I wasn’t aware of any such law but I was sure happy to hear it. I’ve put 1,866 miles on my 2013 volt using 11.1 gallons of fuel and thats without a 240 charge (not at work long enough for a full charge with the 110-120). I average 80 ev miles on my 96 mile commute. Love this car!

Try getting a price through AAA auto pricing. I wound up with a quote that was $3.5 K under MSRP for an HOV qualified vehicle.

Hey Joseph,

The same thing happened when the First Volts came out in December of 2010. Because dealers own the vehicles, they can do whatever they want with them. If a dealer is charging too much of a markup, I would shop around. When I bought my Volt (#10), I got MSRP even though many others were asking between 3-8k premium. Finding the right dealer is really what you need to do. Some dealers are willing to take the business at MSRP knowing you’ll be a happier long term customer. (Sad to say that is not the case for all of them).

Whereabouts are you looking to buy the Volt?

Something’s not right. The dealers are quoting $5K markup for carpool eligible Volts. I don’t think this program was meant to enrich dealerships. Some lobbying must have been at action here. This should be disalowed. I refused to pay the premium, so I walked out of the dealership last night. I guess I’m not diriving a Volt.
