Re: Folding flat 1st gen Volt back seats?
I dont know about removing the seat bottoms, but the rear seat will lay flat. The "lever" is on top of the seat near the headrest, the seatbelt is usually covering it so it is easy to miss.

Re: Power button sound is very high
I think if you can get to the volume knob WHILE the start up sound is happening, you can lower the volume. You have to be fast and adjust while it is happening

Re: New or Old volt!!!
I have a 2011 with almost 130,000 miles, and been an excellent car. I read a ton of forums on the Volt and actually the 2013 seems to be the year with the most problems, so personally I would avoid a 2013.

Re: number on screen
Im guessing you have a 2011, correct? The early 2011 Volts displayed the last four digits on the VIN upon car startup. You have the 3919th one made. Mine is 3385.

Re: I love(d?) my Chevy Volt
Nice story but either I'm reading it wrong or there are some flaws in the story. From the start of the story I am getting the impression you were making the 130 mile round trip on a single charge, in a 2011 (or any Volt for that matter) that is IMPOSSIBLE on battery alone. Maybe you meant you were d...

Re: Overcharging?
It is true the battery is NEVER fully charged OR discharged. It basically only uses the middle range to prolong battery life. It only uses about 65%, I am not sure of the exact range but for example it may only charge to 80% capacity and discharge to 15% remaining before the engine starts, which is ...

Re: Overcharging?
No, your car will NOT overcharge, but the regeneration will be wasted. Ideally, if you immediately start your trip going downhill, the best option is to stop charging your car before it is fully charged. You would have to experiment to get the best time to unplug.

Re: gaz-engine consumption
You need to look up something called ERDTT, short for Engine running due to temperature. I know at a certain temperature the gas engine will run to warm the main battery. This has nothing to do with what your climate control is set at. This could be what you are experiencing???? I am not at all fami...

Re: KW to charge not cost
My 2011 has a 16 kwh battery of which only 10.3 is usable. The Volt only uses about 65% of battery capacity to ensure longevity. On the myvolt.com site, it says I am using about 12kwh to charge. I am lucky that my electricity charge during off peak hours is only 7 cents per kwh which equates to 84 c...

Re: Adative Cruse Control
I do not believe you can tell if it has ACC just from the VIN. You will need to find a Premier VOLT that has BOTH Driver confidence package 1 AND 2. But that does not mean it has the ACC feature, but it must meet all three above requirements to even possibly have that option. I know that really does...
