Re: Turning off POWER at 55 mph in the dark!
You are not the first nor last to have this happen. Here's a quote from my 6 month observations back in 2011... IMPROVE : This is a biggy!!! This is a safety issue!!! Relocate the drive mode button away from the on/off button. Twice in the six months, I've been driving and mistakenly hit the on/off ...

Re: Volt owners Lunch with Dan Akerson, GM Chairman & CEO
Here is my report... I received an email invitation on Monday for this luncheon - namely: Volt Meet-Up with Dan Akerson in San Francisco! "Dan Akerson, GM's Chairman & CEO, and fellow Chevy Volt owner, will be in San Francisco Wednesday, March 7. While he's in town, Dan would like to meet y...

Victor,
I thought that I read that this function uses Sirius feeds and so, if you do not subscribe (an extra expense over and above the cost of the radio stations), it does not display anything or announce anything.

Re: Do either of the 240V chargers make any noise?
Dave,
I have the CT. Typically, I only hear it click on and off when i plug in or unplug Heidi, my Volt. That's about it. However, I've also rarely heard it make another, more annoying repetitive, low hum. When that happens, reholstering the plug, as I recall, stops that noise.

Re: Heidi my greyhound
Victor, I like your idea as one more safety feature: requiring the on/off button to be held in for 2 seconds when the car is in motion. The power button needs to be touched twice (and there is a warning that pops up on the main dashboard). But when one is switching from Normal to Sport Mode (2 hits)...

Re: Heidi my greyhound
Well it has been a little over six months and i promised myself to write a check-in at that point in time so here it is... Talking to another auto buff at work, I'll use the following format: a) what do I like the most, b) what do I like the least, c) what would I improve, and d) what am I still wan...

Re: 3883 WOO HOO! Level 2 anyone?
We drove the other day till the gas engine came one. My spouse asked me, while we climbing an incline (which I was driving up in Sport mode), if I'd put the car in a lower gear. And then belatedly realized it was the gas engine. He'd forgotten what the gas engine sounded like since it is usually so ...

Re: National Plug In Day - Santa Monica, CA
Thanks Victor for the heads up.
Since I live in the Bay Area, I'd be interested in whether Volt owners here are planning to travel to Sac, or if there is going to be anything happening here by The Bay.
Inquiring minds would love to know!

Re: 220v charging
Pat, You will want to visit the SPX Website (https://www.homecharging.spx.com/volt/Display.aspx?id=6&menu=2). The Power Express plugs into an existing 240v outlet. I am not sure where you live, but you may also qualify for a DoE funded charger so don't go and pay for anything more than you may n...
