Re: Why I Bought a 2017 Volt and not Bolt

Congrats on getting one of the last Volts to be made. It's a shame Chevy did not pursue a "Volt Solution" by expanding their line of electric/gas combo architecture. Why couldn't the Bolt have been a longer electric range, SUV version of the Volt? I would have jumped at getting one! All cu...

Re: Why I Bought a 2017 Volt and not Bolt

It's time for an update regarding my experience in owning and driving my 2017 Volt. Over the past eight months I have been more than pleased with the MPGe performance of my Volt. The government rating is 106 mpge, but I'm now up to "lifetime" 121 mpge according to the car's statistics scre...

Re: Why I Bought a 2017 Volt and not Bolt

I just wanted to report my pleasure on receiving the full $7,500 "rebate" on my Federal Income Return for having bought a Volt. That certainly helped with the purchase of a new Volt. As Chevrolet continues to roll out sales of their Bolt to other states, total sales will continue to the po...

Re: Driving in low gear

With the Chevrolet Bolt now available in limited areas, 'one-pedal driving' is gaining some traction in the forums. I assume it works pretty much the same as driving in Low gear with the Volt. I am trying one-pedal driving again to see if I can get better mpge and battery range. So far I am getting ...

Re: Driving in low gear

It has now been 5 months driving my Volt 2017. Very pleased with its performance. I don't drive in Low anymore. I stay in Drive and use coasting to the max, and use that handy-dandy paddle to slow down before actually using the brake. As I've reported before, I am getting 70+ miles of range on a ful...

Speed Bumps and Tire Pressure Monitor System

While I've been enjoying my new 2017 Volt, I noticed my tires were getting soft. It's important, of course, to keep them inflated, but the frequency seems to be higher than normal. Has anyone noticed any difference between their Volt and other cars? I recently moved so it may be speed bumps in my ga...

Re: Driving in low gear

I am a new owner of a 2017 Volt and when I kept seeing discussions on driving in Low gear, I tried it myself. Perhaps it was different for Gen 1, but I don't do as well when I use L. Using D gets me 72 miles on a charge, but L only gets me around 70 miles. That is not an advantage for me, and I actu...

Re: Why I Bought a 2017 Volt and not Bolt

Compared to you I am quite the "newbie" with my 2nd Gen Volt. I apparently missed out on the power on/off "fun" of the 1st Gen Volts. You've paid your dues as a pioneering Volt owner! Glad to know, too, that Chevy listens to their customers. After having my Volt for a few weeks I...

Re: Remote Keys Problem

Having this problem again I think I now know the why. I could be confusing the software for starting the car by trying to start it on top of having already started it. There is not all that much difference between starting and turning off the car (brake pedal), and possibly opening the door at the s...

Re: Why I Bought a 2017 Volt and not Bolt

Today I read about the Federal Department of Transportation will push for 48-Corridors of EV Charging with stations every 50 miles. If I had bought a Bolt, I would be dependent on finding one of those EV Charging Stations, specifically DC Fast of the CSS kind which works with the Bolt and can add up...
