Re: Coulumb vs. Blink?

Hey There, I got the Coulomb Unit Free about a year ago. afaik they collect primarily usage data and logs of any hardware faults with the CT500. (They can pull records from the unit that help diagnose Ground Faults, Overcurrents, time of use. amount of use, etc.) So far its been good to me except th...

Re: Extreme weather plug ins

Hey Rick, Not sure exact how cold you are talking about, but the Volt has been cold weather tested in the depths of Canadian winter. If it gets too cold (I believe somewhere below 30F) the gas engine will start up when you turn on the car to warm up the battery. So if you live in the US, 3 days at a...

Re: 120 v ext cord

GM is going to say "don't use an extension cord" to CYA - but personally I've had no trouble if you use a heavy gauge high quality cord. The main issue is making sure you don't tear the cord etc - so be intelligent about where you place the cord . They aren't made to be run over by cars li...

Re: 120v Charger Ground Loss problem

Hey Mike, I've had occasionalissues with my 240v charger at home. Unclear if its an equipment issue at this point - I'm getting some diagnostics done right now (the CT500 has logging functionality). I'm sure you know a lot more about GFCI circuit logic than I do so can't help you as to what might be...

Yup that's the only way as it stands now, to minimize the radio volume.

Re: Carpool lane sticker in Los Angeles

I actually talked to Tony Posawatz about this issue last year when the Volt came out, Believe my GM tried to get CARB to move on the Emissions Rule (Sounds dumb since you so rarely use gas doesn't it). We would have loved HOV / Rebates from California. The technical difficultly with getting a PZEV r...

Hey Dave,

The numbers are viewable on the main center console display when starting the Volt only for the MY2011 vehicles.

Re: No access to charging station at SFO airport

Hey There,

Long Term parking at SFO is just a standard 110 outlet with no chargepoint card so that's the closest I've come.

It's quick and easy to sign up for a card though and now you have it!

Re: pre-conditioning and intelligent gas generator re-chargi

To be fair though, the power tool batteries aren't 360 volts. From what I know, high power electrical contacts (that are removable) are much harder to make durable than lower power ones. So safety issues aside, there would be some durability challenges. Not saying i wouldn't like it, just saying i t...
