Re: PRNDL - Anyone use L?

Hey Victor, I drive exclusively in L mode. Meaning I even use the L mode to slow down during normal stop and go driving. (This means I have to plan to start "regenerative braking" much earlier than you would in a normal car, but it also means you put the max amount of energy back into your...

Re: E85 Volt

I did hear this before but not sure if it's still in the pipeline.

Last i heard it would be available in 2012 (probably 2013 model year)

Re: 3883 WOO HOO! Level 2 anyone?

I'm sure they are padding the hours in case of unforeseen complications - even if you don't see any, they can't be sure of any. One thing that i know took my electrician a lot of time was pulling the permit in the city (took about 2 hours to do that) Might just be Berkeley though. Also the electrici...

Hey Victor,

Welcome to the boards and grats on your new Volt! I had a standard SPX install and most was covered by significant rebates/subsidies (work greats though!). I'm not sure if they are still available though.

Re: Burning smell

No that is not normal - definitely call it in and have it checked out. Does it smell like burning oil? Plastic? Your dealer is supposed to run the engine for a period of time to make sure it works before delivery. You can call your Volt Advisor, but likely they will tell you to bring it into the dea...

Re: First San Francisco Bay Area Volt Gathering!

I'm going to suggest another strategy, which would be the line up an interesting place to visit / host the meeting (well in advance) then we'll try to publicize and see what turnout we can get. I think if people have an event that's out there we'll get better draw. I'm going to try and reach out to ...

Re: First San Francisco Bay Area Volt Gathering!

Ideally would like to get 10+ signed up (knowing that several will have last minute issues). May need to post on Gm-volt to get a wider audience.

Re: Picked up Volt 1814 4/30/11

Hey There - Grats on the new car! I've seen more on the road since I've gotten mine. (3-4 others in the area!)

It was a little cool at first being the only one in the area with one - but we want to see more electric cars on the road so that car companies will make newer better ones!

Re: First San Francisco Bay Area Volt Gathering!

Hey Guys, bump on this thread to see if more people have their Volt's now. I am inclined to take up an offer of one of the local dealers to host the event if we get the number of attendees. Obviously, some will likely have a change of plans at the last minute, but I am thinking about the weekend of ...

Re: Prius vs Volt

The Regenerative braking is awesome on the Volt. I don't know the exact efficiency numbers, but if you drive in "L" mode you can basically take your car from 45 mph down to 10 mph in about 10 seconds if you are driving on flat terrain. L mode basically means only regenerative braking, so a...
