Make the Chevy Volt Engineering Tradeoffs !

Here is an excerpt of a recent survey released online to early Volt owners. If you haven't already, read my post http://www.mychevroletvolt.com/chevy-volt-v2-considering-5-engineering-tradeoffs for more information. If you have, share what you would have picked and why. You can see my responses on t...

Re: Uhhh, time is on my side?

I found that amusing too Scott. Somehow I am sure this was a engineering / business decision rather than an oversight. Probably would have had to setup the communication channel on Onstar to outpulse the time stamp, or otherwise do an XM integration which would have added unnecessarily development t...

Re: Got my Volt Sat. March 5th

Congratulations Mike! You'll love the Volt. I'm curious to see if they hammered out any of the minor issues us December delivery guys had. Keep us posted how it goes!

I'm hoping to write a more comprehensive review (Maybe a nice 3 month review) soon with those experiences.

Re: 1700 miles and not bough gas yet

I've been trying to pad my stats as well, (using less heat etc). It's pretty amazing how much difference it makes. For the same trip on the same freeway without traffic I got about 41 miles electric when it was 72 degrees out and about 32-33 miles electric when it was 44 degrees out (Using ECO Mode ...

Re: Cost to charge verses gasoline per mile.

Hey John Make sure you ask for the E9-A or E9-B rates. If the rep doesn't know about it (not all front line reps do) - ask to be transferred to the PGE "Solar" Department. They are supposed to handle E9 rate changes. If your E9 rate is already 28 cents / kwH off hours that would be pretty ...

Re: Location based charging profile?

Hey Scott, That would be a neat feature, in the meantime, you can set to temporary immediate charge mode when you open your charge door while you are still inside the car. Also if you plug in the Volt twice in a session it will automatically change to immediate charge. You might already know that bu...

Re: First San Francisco Bay Area Volt Gathering!

Hey Tommy,

Welcome to the boards and thanks for offering! We may take you up on that once we get a critical mass of Volt Owners! I think that's a great idea and way to do a meet and greet with current owners and prospective owners.

Re: First San Francisco Bay Area Volt Gathering!

Hey Jason, Great thoughts - my thought for scope is to start out simple, just make it a community gathering to meet the other faces of Volt. If we think there's something more, perhaps we can make it something bigger in a subsequent meeting! I think we'll table until later to see if we can get more ...
