Buy 2018 volt or wait for the 2019 model?

Postby voltage911 » Sat Aug 04, 2018 7:24 pm

Quick poll. Should I buy the 2018 volt or wait for the 2019 volt? It seems that the new model should be out this month. I would appreciate any advice that the forum members can offer!
Happy Volting!

I had the same question and ended up buying a 2018 off the dealer’s Lot. (And I love it). My rationale; not many changes for 2019 other than charging rates in Chevy Press Release, the federal tax credit will be lower next year because Chevy is very close to the 200,000 car, dealer incentives are great right now with no expectation they will hold at the start of 2019 models.

First post!

I had the same question.

I test drove a 2018 at Beatty Chevrolet in Knoxville, TN. Trying to decide whether to try to get a deal on a 2018 or wait for the 2019. Either way, for tax reasons I would need to close the deal this year.

I’m nursing along a 2005 Honda Element with MT and 200,000 miles. Been a great little car.

This links to a good summary of changes for 2019:

Says release planned for fall. Sounds like it’s worth the wait.
