1700 miles and not bough gas yet

When Volts are available, here will be the place to talk about how to Detail, Maintain and Customize your Volt. Other good topics are charging (solar or otherwise) smartphone app usage, etc.

1700 miles and not bough gas yet

Postby JeffU » Mon Feb 21, 2011 1:02 pm

My Volt has 1700 miles on it now and I have not bought gas yet.

I'm still on my first tank of gas from the Chevy Dealership! I have 3 gallons left.

Lifetime MPG of 245 MPG.

I've been able to go 120 miles in one day but I charged in between trips.

Most days to go more than 40 miles all electric with a top off here and there.

So glad my car has a plug. :)

I've been trying to pad my stats as well, (using less heat etc).

It's pretty amazing how much difference it makes.

For the same trip on the same freeway without traffic I got about 41 miles electric when it was 72 degrees out and about 32-33 miles electric when it was 44 degrees out (Using ECO Mode 68 degrees setting mostly so my windows don't fog over!)

It's sad... The first week I had my Volt, I had to drive to Orange County for a lunch meeting, a distance of about 150 miles round trip. Then that weekend, I had to drive to Long Beach for a funeral, a distance of about 220 miles round trip. That blew my lifetime mpg and it'll take me a long time to get it back up... Even so, in my first 1,000 miles, I've got a 115 mpg!!!

I'm at over 2000 miles, haven't bought gas yet.
